Leading Irish Recruitment Company revolutionises job hunting
Dublin-based recruitment company, The People Group, has launched a user-friendly websitewww.thepeoplegroup.mobi to allow candidates apply for a job using their smartphone.
The company, one of the country's longest established sales and marketing recruitment agencies, has joined forces with web development company, Evolution-e Internet, to launch a dedicated mobile optimised website to cater for the massive upsurge in smartphone web browsing.
People Group MD, Colm Buckley, said the company decided to launch a .mobi web site to reflect the fact that over half of Ireland's five million mobile phone users are able to access the web, with approximately 600,000 doing so on a regular basis.
The company started monitoring its web traffic six months ago and saw that approximately 15% was coming through mobile phone devices such as iPhones and Android based smartphones.
"Clearly candidates wanted to engage with the company online via their mobile phones. We commissioned our web partner, Evolution-e, to build a system that would ensure mobile visitors to our website had aquicker and better experience in searching and applying for jobs online. Since our launch we have seen a signifigant increase in web applications from Phones." said Colm Buckley.
He added:" By listening to our candidates and clients' needs we saw this as an excellent extension of our website offering. Already we are getting great feedback and an increase in candidate appications which help us to fulfil our client's roles."
